Job Title: Business & Data Analyst- Commercial lending with AFS

Experience: 10+ Years

Location: Hybrid- Iselin NJ/Johnston RI

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst with strong expertise in Commercial Lending and Loan Operations to support data analysis and integration initiatives across lending platforms. The ideal candidate will work closely with operations teams, technology teams, and business stakeholders to analyze lending workflows, data structures, and system integrations.

This role requires strong knowledge of commercial lending processes, hands-on experience with AFS and LoanIQ platforms, and familiarity with API-based integrations and data flows across enterprise systems.

Primary Responsibilities

Business & Data Analysis

• Gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements related to commercial lending operations.
• Work closely with operations teams to understand loan lifecycle processes including origination, servicing, payments, and reporting.
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications for development and integration teams.
• Analyze data flows across lending platforms and identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and process improvements.

Commercial Lending Platform Expertise

• Support initiatives involving AFS and LoanIQ systems including data mapping, reporting, and operational workflows.
• Understand and document loan servicing, credit structures, and operational processes within commercial lending.
• Collaborate with technology teams to ensure accurate data exchange between systems.

System Integration & APIs

• Work with engineering teams to define API requirements and integration workflows across lending and enterprise systems.
• Support data mapping, transformation, and validation for API-based integrations.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across multiple financial systems and platforms.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Act as a liaison between business users, operations teams, and technology teams.
• Facilitate workshops and discussions to clarify requirements and align stakeholders.
• Provide insights and documentation to support system implementations and process improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8–12+ years of experience as a Business/Data Analyst within Commercial Banking or Financial Services.
• Strong experience working with Commercial Lending and Loan Operations teams.
• Hands-on experience with AFS and LoanIQ platforms.
• Experience working with API integrations and data exchange between enterprise systems.
• Strong understanding of commercial lending lifecycle and operational workflows.
• Experience analyzing data structures, system integrations, and reporting requirements.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with loan servicing, credit operations, and lending data platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and JIRA for requirement tracking.
• Experience supporting data transformation, integration, and reporting initiatives.
• Understanding of financial data governance and regulatory requirements.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with commercial lending transformation or modernization programs.
• Familiarity with data visualization or reporting tools.
• Prior experience supporting large banking or financial services organizations.
