Position Overview

The Chief Marketing Officer will set and execute a bold, commercially driven marketing strategy to grow brand awareness, market share and lifetime customer value across owned, earned and paid channels. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with product, sales, operations and legal, the CMO will lead a multi-disciplinary marketing team, own brand identity and storytelling, drive product launches, oversee consumer insights and ensure marketing activity aligns with regulatory requirements for THC products in target markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive brand and growth strategy aligned with business objectives, including positioning, pricing, go-to-market and lifecycle marketing.

  • Lead creative development for brand identity, packaging, advertising, digital presence and experiential activations that reflect our lifestyle culture and target adult consumers.

  • Build, mentor and scale a high-performing marketing team across brand, digital, CRM, content, events and partnerships.

  • Oversee product launch planning and execution, coordinating cross-functionally to ensure timely market entry and strong initial traction.

  • Drive data-informed decision making using consumer research, sales analytics and marketing performance metrics to optimise acquisition and retention.

  • Manage marketing budgets and agency/partner relationships to deliver measurable ROI and scalable campaigns.

  • Establish and maintain brand safety and compliance protocols, working with legal and regulatory teams to ensure all marketing materials and promotions meet regional THC advertising and packaging rules.

  • Develop strategic partnerships, collaborations and experiential programmes that authentically embed the brand in relevant cultural spaces.

  • Represent the brand externally at industry events, investor meetings and media opportunities as required.

Requirements

  • Senior marketing leader with 8+ years’ experience in consumer brand marketing and at least 4 years in a senior or executive marketing role.

  • Proven experience building and scaling lifestyle or beverage brands, ideally with direct-to-consumer and retail channel experience.

  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrable success growing revenue, improving retention and delivering measurable marketing ROI.

  • Experience managing integrated, multi-channel campaigns including digital, CRM, content, experiential and retail marketing.

  • Comfortable navigating complex regulatory environments; experience with alcohol, cannabis or other regulated categories preferred.

  • Excellent leadership skills with a collaborative, inclusive approach to team development and cross-functional partnership.

  • Data literacy with experience using analytics and consumer insights to drive strategy and optimisation.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and experience presenting to C-suite and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to travel as required for market launches, partner meetings and events.
