Project Manager
Location: Chino, CA
Compensation: $90,000 to $120,000 base salary
Schedule: Full time, in office daily, flexible hours generally around 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

A growing specialty contractor in Chino is seeking a Project Manager to support a fast paced operation focused on fuel systems construction and service. The company has deep industry roots and a strong reputation in underground and above ground fuel system work, including projects for municipal fleets, bus yards, backup generator systems, fire stations, telecom clients, and other industrial facilities. The team operates in a high volume environment, managing a steady flow of short duration projects ranging from roughly $100,000 to $5 million. The right person will be comfortable balancing office based project management responsibilities with active field coordination, managing crews, and keeping multiple jobs moving at once.
Position Overview
The Project Manager will oversee several active jobs at a time and help drive projects from kickoff through closeout. This role is ideal for someone with experience in underground utilities, industrial plumbing, piping, fuel systems, or similar specialty construction scopes. Public works or municipal project experience is strongly valued.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, often across short project durations
• Oversee project execution from preconstruction handoff through completion
• Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
• Track schedules, job progress, manpower, and material needs
• Handle project documentation, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout paperwork
• Support public works and municipal compliance documentation as needed
• Maintain communication with clients, internal teams, and field staff to ensure projects stay on track
• Visit jobsites and stay closely involved in field operations
• Help manage a fast moving workload with multiple projects running at the same time
• Work closely with leadership to keep projects profitable, organized, and moving efficiently
Preferred Background
• Experience as a Project Manager in construction, specialty contracting, or a closely related field
• Background in underground utilities, industrial plumbing, piping, fuel systems, or similar scopes preferred
• Experience with public works, municipal projects, or related documentation is a plus
• Comfortable managing crews and being active in both office and field environments
• Able to work in a fast paced setting with shifting priorities and multiple active jobs
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Experience with Salesforce or similar project tracking systems is helpful
• Degree not required, relevant construction experience matters most
