Director of Distribution and Logistics (Direct Hire)

Medix has partnered with a premier medical device manufacturing client to identify a strategic and high-energy Director of Distribution and Logistics . This is a Direct Hire opportunity located in Denton County, TX , offering the chance to lead a large-scale operation for a global leader in medical solutions.

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the SVP of Global Operations , you will lead the teams responsible for domestic and international customer experience, warehousing, and logistics. You will serve as a key leader in Denton County, TX, managing inventory both within the warehouse and across the field.

This role requires a leader who can collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Procurement to exceed service level commitments while managing targeted KPIs and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Excellence: Lead efforts to create a competitive advantage within the Order to Cash (OTC) cycle by deploying best practices in sales orders, field inventory, and loaner management.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, retain, and develop a world-class, diverse team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
• Inventory Strategy: Optimize financial performance through sound inventory management strategies and strategic partnerships with distributors and customers.
• Compliance & Quality: Ensure all logistics and warehouse operations maximize technology and efficiency while remaining in strict accordance with Quality, GMP, FDA, and ISO standards .
• Process Innovation: Identify and implement best practices in talent and technology to minimize redundancy, reduce cycle times, and increase inventory availability.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 10–15 years of directly related experience in broad, end-to-end Order to Cash Cycle Management .
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in complex, program-driven industries with national distributor networks; specific medical device industry experience is highly preferred.
• Leadership: Proven track record of leading large, complex teams and driving organizational change through influence and innovation.
• Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of operational finance, including cash flow, margin improvement, working capital, and inventory optimization.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle) , Inventory/WMS software, and 3PL applications.
• Methodology: Deep understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles as they apply to inventory planning and warehouse operations.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is desired.

Logistics & Demands

• Travel: Ability to travel up to 50%, including international travel.
• Environment: Must be able to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift objects up to 20 lbs.
