Diverse Pipeline Services (DPS) is hiring experienced Distribution Utility Inspectors to support gas main replacement and new service installation projects across Massachusetts. This role supports field operations and reports to regional leadership.
Distribution Utility Inspector
Fall River, Massachusetts
Full-Time | Project-Based
Inspectors act as on-site representatives, ensuring work is performed safely, accurately, and in compliance with all applicable standards, including 220 CMR 100 .
Key Responsibilities
• Inspect and document gas distribution construction activities
• Monitor tie-ins, pressure testing, purging, and fusion
• Verify work meets approved drawings, procedures, and safety standards
• Inspect excavation, pipe installation, materials, and clearances
• Capture photos and complete daily inspection reports
• Prepare as-built drawings and collect GPS points
• Verify proper backfill and asphalt restoration
Requirements
• 5+ years in the Natural Gas Distribution industry
• Inspection experience on gas main and service installations preferred
• Strong knowledge of gas construction standards
• Able to work independently across multiple crews
• Comfortable with digital reporting and documentation
• Valid driver’s license
