MAU is hiring an Instrument and Electronics Technician for our client in North Charleston, SC. As an Instrument and Electronics Technician, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems to support safe and efficient facility operations.

Shift Information• Day Shift, 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Required Education and Experience• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5 years of Industrial Instrumentation and Electrical Maintenance experience or formal training from a technical school or institution in the Instrumentation and Electrical field preferred
General Requirements• Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical and instrumentation manuals, prints, and drawings
• Understanding of arc flash safety standards as outlined in NFPA 70E
• Knowledge of mathematics, physics, AC/DC theory, electronics, pneumatics, and reliability methods
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management
• Ability to work autonomously
• Ability to work shift work and overtime as required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
• Ability to work in an industrial chemical manufacturing environment
• Must not require current or future sponsorship to work in the United States
Essential Functions• Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair electrical and instrumentation devices, equipment, and systems, including low voltage to 13.8KV systems
• Read and interpret electrical and instrumentation manuals, prints, and drawings
• Apply arc flash safety standards in accordance with NFPA 70E
• Apply principles of mathematics, physics, AC/DC theory, electronics, pneumatics, and reliability methods in maintenance activities
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems including conduit, cabling, wiring, lighting, motors, power distribution equipment, high voltage systems, PLC/DCS systems, and control devices
• Perform tasks such as replacement of small motors, piping components, and instrumentation devices in coordination with other crafts
• Access bills of materials, locate, and check out parts from the storeroom
• Operate lifts and other equipment as needed
• Check email at least once per shift
• Train other I/E Technicians and perform maintenance on various machines throughout the facility
• Complete all required paperwork
• Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
• Perform other duties as assigned
Working Conditions• Work in an outdoor facility
• Work in an industrial chemical manufacturing environment
Physical Demands• Perform physical activities including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials
• Ability to stand and work for up to 16 hours per day
• Ability to lift heavy items on a regular basis
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders
• Ability to work around large equipment and moving vehicles
