The Legal Assistant/ Paralegal -Litigation provides comprehensive administrative and clerical support to in-house litigation counsel, attorneys, and legal teams. This role involves gathering relevant documents, preparing legal documents, maintaining case files and calendars, and managing internal and external communications.

Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys in handling of litigation, claims and investigations.
• Collect, examine, and organize documents from personnel throughout the Company for attorney review and case preparation.
• Coordinate with third-party claims administrators and insurers.
• Respond to subpoenas.
• Assist attorneys in responding to discovery requests.
• Assist Company personnel with local collection/lien matters.
• Prepare legal documents, including demand letters, notice letters, responses and form pleadings for review by attorneys.
• Process legal invoices and purchase orders for legal department.
• Create and maintain database files in the legal department matter management system and produce periodic reports.
• Maintain litigation calendar using matter managment software
• Maintain physical files in accordance with document retention procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) is required; paralegal training or a college degree is a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a litigation assistant/paralegal in a law firm or corporate law department is highly preferred
• Consideration is given to relevant experience and related certification
