Warehouse Supervisor opening with our client in Somerset. Direct Hire
Working schedule: Mon to Fri, 9am to 6pm(including 1hour unpaid meal break)
Pay rate: $25/hours
General Description
Responsible for ensuring the efficient storage, handling, and distribution of goods. This role supervises temporary staff, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures safety and productivity standards are met.
Principal tasks (not limited to and subject to change)
• Supervise warehouse staff: Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training.
• Manage Inventory: Track stock levels, coordinate receiving and shipping, prevent shortage or overstock.
• Oversee daily operations: Ensure smooth inbound and outbound logistics (loading/unloading, order fulfillment)
• Maintain Safety standards: Enforce workplace, safety rules and compliance with regulations (e.g. OSHA)
• Optimize processes: Improve workflow efficiency and reduce operational costs
• Coordinate with other departments: Work with procurement, transportation, and customer service teams.
• Handle documentation: Maintain records for shipments, inventory, and staff schedules
• Resolve issues: Address delays, damaged goods, or staff conflicts quickly
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business preferred
• 3+ years of warehouse or logistics experience
• Supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred
• Forklift/operator certification
• OSHA Safety certification (preferred)
Skills
• Strong leadership and team management
• Knowledge of inventory management, shipping/receiving processes, and safety compliance
• Experience with warehouse systems (WMS, ERP software such as SAP)
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Physical requirements
• Ability to lift heavy items (often 25-50 lbs.)
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the entire shift
